At Dolan Bikes, we stand behind our components with the same confidence we have in our frame builds. If your purchase doesn’t meet your expectations, our returns process is as smooth as a well-tuned drivetrain.
Our Returns Philosophy
We understand that sometimes even premium components need adjustment. Whether it’s an incorrect sizing or simply a change of heart, we offer a 15-day return window from delivery date for most items.
Non-Returnable Items
For safety and hygiene reasons, we cannot accept returns on:
- Bike Helmets (safety equipment cannot be resold once used)
- Bike Decals (custom application items)
- Bike Batteries (special handling requirements)
- Opened Bike Tools & Maintenance products
All returned items must be in original packaging with tags attached, showing no signs of use or installation.
The Returns Process
Step 1: Initiate Your Return
Contact our workshop team within 15 days of delivery at [email protected] with:
- Your order number
- Item(s) you wish to return
- Reason for return
- Whether you prefer exchange or refund
Step 2: Receive Authorization
Our team will respond within 24-48 hours (faster than a sprint finish) with:
- Return authorization number
- Shipping instructions
- Any special requirements for your item
Step 3: Ship Your Return
Pack items securely in original packaging and include all accessories/documentation. Ship to:

Note: Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility unless the return is due to our error.
Step 4: Processing Your Return
Once received at our workshop, we’ll inspect items within 3 business days (with the same care we inspect our frames). You’ll receive email confirmation when:
- Your refund is processed
- Your exchange item is shipped
- Or if any issues are found
Refund Details
Approved refunds will be issued to your original payment method within:
- Credit/Debit Cards: 3-5 business days after processing
- PayPal: 1-3 business days after processing
Original shipping fees are non-refundable except in cases of our error.
Exchange Policy
Prefer to exchange rather than return? We’ll:
- Process your exchange once the original item is received
- Ship the new item via your preferred shipping method
- Charge/refund any price difference plus applicable shipping
Damaged or Incorrect Items
If you receive damaged goods or incorrect components (rare as a misaligned derailleur from our workshop):
- Contact us immediately with photos of the issue
- We’ll arrange prepaid return shipping if needed
- Priority processing for replacement items
International Returns
For riders outside the UK:
- Mark package as “RETURNED GOODS” to avoid customs fees
- We cannot refund original customs/duties
- Return shipping costs may be higher – consider using our EMS service
